去年小犬颱風吹襲蘭嶼時，殺大家一個措手不及。每次的颱風都是蘭嶼的隱憂，但其實祖先們早就為達悟族想好了解決方案，那就是傳統地下屋。
從古到今，達悟族都是自己的家自己蓋。先輩們建造地下屋時，資源器材短缺，從種樹、砍木、搬石頭、做木釘等等都是親力親為，一樑一柱都是心血結晶。
直到現在，還有人居住在地下屋，它可以說是活著的歷史。到訪地下屋，可以細閱過去達悟先輩們的生活軌跡、傳統的文化智慧，以及歷史的變遷。
When Typhoon Koinu hit Orchid Island last year, everyone was caught off guard. Every typhoon is a hidden worry for Orchid Island, but actually the ancestors have already thought of a solution for Tao people, i.e. the traditional underground house.
Since the past, Tao people usually built their own house. When Tao’s ancestors built the traditional underground houses, there was a shortage of material, resources and equipment. They need to do everything themselves, from planting trees, chopping wood, moving stones to making wooden nails etc. Every beam and pillar was the result of their hard work.
Until now, some people still live in the traditional underground house, which can be said to be living history. Visiting the traditional underground house, you can imagine the life trajectories of Tao’s ancestors, traditional cultural wisdom and historical changes.

2) 請於活動開始前5分鐘抵達指定地點，逾時不候。另外，屆時有機會要與其他客人一起進行參觀。
3) 如遇颱風或超大雨，活動可能會被取消，屆時再作通知，再作延期安排。
4) 請尊重當地文化，請勿觸碰地下屋內物件，也不要闖入未經可許進入的地方，以及未經許可拍攝當地人的照片。

2) Please arrive at the designated location 5 minutes before the activity starts. Latecomers will not be accommodated. In addition, there is a possibility to visit with participants
3) The event may be cancelled in case there is a typhoon or heavy rain. New event date or deposit refund arrangement will be informed afterwards.
4) Please respect the local culture by not touching any objects in the traditional house. Also, please don’t enter the unauthorised place and take photo of local people without his/her permission.
