    Xiao Yuan’s Decorative Techniques Sharing Workshop
    Underglaze decoration is one of the most therapeutic and predictable techniques in ceramic decoration, allowing vessels to have vibrant colors while ensuring they are safe for use!
    The workshop results make practical and beautiful choices whether as gifts or for home use!
    Join us for this rare workshop where Teacher Xiao Yuan will share her experience and expertise in underglaze techniques, helping you avoid many detours while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of working with clay, adding a touch of color and texture to your life!

    Class Content

    • Clay selection (earthenware, porcelain)
    • Overview of decorative techniques | The instructor will explain concepts to give you a clearer understanding of underglaze decoration
    • Introduction to color pigments | Sharing test tiles and explaining how to make colored clay test samples
    • Slip ratio applications | Experience sharing on how to select and make slip, as well as color pigment mixing ratios
    • Common technique applications, combinations, and work sharing
    • Hands-on practice with color brushing and slip trailing
    • Projects will primarily focus on functional pottery such as cups

Location: Cloud Forest Ceramics |  No. 4, Lane 25, Kaixuan Road, Shilin District, Taipei City

課程費用包含:

1.工具：一組擠泥工具（將由工作室統一採購，5個針頭+一個30ml瓶)）
2.原料費（課堂使用之色粉、泥漿、皮革硬度土胚1-2件，視個人處理作品進度。
3.燒窯費（1230氧化燒）：1-2件，15立方公分的作品燒窯費。
4.作品如需寄送：包材費為 400元，運費貨到府款。
5.本工作坊包含代為上釉費用，如果想自行上釉請與老師和工作室另約時間進行，此項目無法因為自行上釉而進行退費。
6.為維護品質，課堂恕不接受親友陪同上課。
7.請在燒成收到領取通知後3個月內進行取件或通知工作室是否需協助寄件，如超過時間工作室將不持續進行保管。

＊如有未盡告知之事宜，以工作室公告為主。

Course Fee Includes

  1. Tools: One set of slip trailing tools (purchased uniformly by the studio: 5 nozzles + one 30ml bottle)
  2. Material fees (color pigments, slip, and 1-2 leather-hard clay pieces used in class, depending on individual progress)
  3. Kiln firing fee (1230°C oxidation firing): 1-2 pieces, firing fee for works up to 15 cubic centimeters
  4. If shipping is needed for works: packaging fee is NT$400, shipping charges collect on delivery
  5. This workshop includes glazing service. If you wish to glaze your own work, please arrange a separate time with the teacher and studio; no refund will be given for self-glazing
  6. To maintain quality, friends and family are not permitted to accompany students in class
  7. Please pick up or notify the studio about shipping assistance within 3 months of receiving the completion notification. The studio will not continue to store items beyond this period*For any matters not covered here, studio announcements take precedence.
