【Teaching Philosophy】
My philosophy of teaching is embodied in the objectives of providing students with the skills to not only become flutists, artists, but humans that truly appreciate music in their lives. I am committed to sharing my musical experiences and knowledge, in exchange for learning from each student as well.
【Bio】
Jenni Tsai is a multi-genre flutist who excels in jazz and classical. She has established herself as a soloist, ensemble player and educator upon obtaining her master degree in flute performance from the New England Conservatory in 2009.
As an internationally sought-after flutist, Jenni has appeared in Boston Philharmonia, The New England Conservatory Philharmonic and New Taipei Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in Arts Alive Festival in Johannesburg, Taipei Summer Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, JZ Festival Shanghai, JZ Spring Music Festival Shanghai, Hangzhou Xihu Blooms Musical Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, Victoria Hall with JASSO Singapore, to name a few. She has had the pleasure to share the stage with internationally recognized jazz artists such as Jerry Gonzales, Walter Blanding, Jeremy Monteiro, Tina May, Laura Fygi, among others. Her recent collaboration with hip-hop icon Soft Lipa has brought her to major hip-hop music festivals around the island and abroad. She also has appeared in many recordings across genres like pop, hip-hop, electronic, classical, jazz, and original movie soundtracks.
Her sold-out solo flute recital “An Evening of Contemporary Classics” and piano trio chamber recital “ Trio con Brio” were presented in 2017 at the National Concert Hall in Taipei. Additionally, her commissioned arrangement of Piazzolla’s History of Tango was debuted by Taipei Chinese Orchestra in 2014. Her band “Not A Lady” performs jazzbased music with a twist of soul, R&B, and funk regularly at Taiwan’s live music venues.
She is currently jazz ensemble faculty of Soochow University. She had been on the music faculty of Taipei European School, Kang Chiao International School East China Campus, Suzhou, China, Yew Chung International School Shanghai, Bedford-Stuyvesant Charter School in Brooklyn, New York, and has given lectures as a guest artist in universities such as Soochow University, Tunghai University, and Catholic Fu Jen University, to name a few.
美國新英格蘭音樂院長笛演奏碩士。參與上海JZ爵士音樂節、杭州花朵音樂節、臺中爵士音樂節及兩廳院夏日爵士派對。演出足跡含林肯爵士樂上海中心、臺北國家兩廳院、波士頓愛樂管弦樂團及新加坡Victoria Hall。合作音樂家涵蓋Jerry Gonzales, Walter Blanding, Laura Fygi, Jeremy MonteiroTina May, Arno Hass等葛萊美提名或獲獎樂手。音樂軌跡從臺灣到美國到中國，古典到爵士與流行，音樂廳到小酒吧與音樂劇樂池。
長笛演奏家蔡子琪，自美國學成後，對於音樂的鑽研與渴望一直從未停歇。在受國際多元豐富的音樂環境洗禮下，悠遊於古典、爵士與流行之中，近期更是活躍於台灣各大爵士音樂節，將流行嘻哈、靈魂樂與爵士完美的融合更是讓在場樂迷們津津樂道。
